Rogue One: A Star Wars Story Trailer 2 & Plot Synopsis

The second movie trailer for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (2016) has been released. This is a very impressive, very stimulating trailer for the upcoming prequel film.  Though the first trailer for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story had more punch, the shots that were created for this film look spectacular in the second trailer. Narrative and environment  completely over-shadow explosions and spectacle in this film. Some of the terrains in this film are completely new to the Star Wars series.

I loved the shot of a Star Destroyer within the atmosphere of the desert planet and of a Star Destroyer coming out of the shadows in space. What Forest Whitaker says to Felicity Jones at the beginning of the trailer really sets the tone for the remainder of the trailer. The battle scenes will immediately remind the viewer of war, especially D-Day during World War II.

Darth Vader does appear briefly at the end of the trailer. He doesn’t not, however, say anything. Darth Vader looks at a display of the Death Star while breathing.
