WGN America Developing Adaptation of DC’s Scalped. Comic book series Scalped has been adored by fans and critics alike, and it seems to have gotten recognition by TV execs. Which is why the fan favorite comic books series is being developed as a TV series by WGN America.
The Hollywood Reporter first gave word that the 2007 Vertigo comic series Scalped was picked up as a pilot for WGN America. DC’s Geoff Johns will be an executive producer on the project alongside Doug Jung (Banshee), who will also be writing the pilot. Created by Jason Aaron and illustrated by R.M. Guera, the crime drama was partially inspired by the 1975 arrest of Native America activist Leonard Peltier for murdering two FBI agents in a reservation shootout.

Scalped presents a modern-day crime story set in the world of a Native American Indian reservation, exploring power, loyalty and spirituality in a community led by the ambitious Chief Lincoln Red Crow as he reckons with Dashiell Bad Horse, who has returned home after years away from the reservation.
