SHAZAM: Brad Peyton Rumored To Direct DC Superhero Film

Brad Peyton Speculated To Be In Running To Helm Shazam

San Andreas director Brad Peyton is believed to be a contender for director of Shazam after a meeting between two players close to the project.

While the project is still in the early stages of development, observers have been keen to speculate on who and what will appear in the DC superhero film when it finally comes out. The fact that Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson of Fast and Furious fame has been cast as the villainous Black Adam while the title character himself remains uncast leaves all the more room for speculation on the part of fans.

But the rumor mill really went into overdrive when Johnson met with DC Comics President Geoff Johns for what was described as a productive discussion about the movie. Although details about the meeting were not forthcoming, one act by Johns following it has fueled excitement about what they believe is evidence that Peyton has been tapped for the film. According to ComicBookMovie.com:

Batman News has noticed that following the meeting, Johns followed director Brad Peyton on Twitter. Now, you might not think that means a whole lot, but it is worth noting that fans have managed to get the jump on several big announcements in this manner, including Rick Famuyiwa coming aboard The Flash (he’s since left the project), and Joe Manganiello’s casting as Deathstroke in Ben Affleck’s solo Batman film.
