Sight & Sound’s Top 20 Films of 2015: THE ASSASSIN, CAROL, MAD MAX: FURY ROAD

Sight and Sound Magazine Logo

Sight & Sound’s Top 20 Films of 2015. This year’s top twenty movies by Sight & Sound magazine are made up of an eclectic group, from action movies to dramas to horror films to independent ventures. I have to admit, the listing is surprising but also enlightened. Great technical work in film can be found in all genres, not just in high-end Hollywood dramas. 169 international film critics participated in the voting this year which culminated in each film’s ranking on this list. 38 of the critics voted for The Assassin, 35 voted for Carol, 33 voted for Mad Max: Fury Road, etc.

Sight & Sound magazine is “a British monthly film magazine published by the British Film Institute (BFI)…The magazine reviews all film releases each month, including those with a limited (art house) release”
