Miles Morales To Become Lead in Upcoming Animated Spider-Man Film. Sony is still hard at work with their animated film based on Spider-Man, and it looks like they have found their lead in current Spider-Man in Miles Morales as the Black Hispanic will be the focus of the new film.
Heroic Hollywood first reported that Miles Morales would be a part of Sony’s new animated film based on the web slinger. The story will reportedly follow the half-black, half-Puerto Rican character as he takes on the mantle of Spider-Man after the death of Peter Parker in the comics. The website also pointed out two working titles for the film, Miles Morales: The Ultimate Spider-Man and The Ultimate Spider-Man: Miles Morales.
The animated film will be co-existing with the live-action Spidey films, but it will exist independently from the MCU. Producer Avi Arad and Matt Tolmach are producing the project along with former Sony Pictures chairperson Amy Pascal. Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige will also join Pascal in producing the animated flick. Directing duo Phil Lord and Chris Miller are still involved in producing the writing the film.
