Jon Watts Gives Peter Parker’s Age for Spider-Man Reboot. There’s not much that we know about Spider-Man’s appearance in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but director Jon Watts confirmed some details, including whether there will be an origin story and Peter Parker’s age.
Speaking with Empire Magazine (via Screen Rant), Jon Watts revealed how old we would be seeing Peter Parker when he’s introduced in Captain America: Civil War and promised that we won’t be seeing another story of the web-slinger. “There are only so many times you can kill Uncle Ben,” director Jon Watts told Empire. “I love the idea of making a coming-of-age high-school movie. We’re really going to see Peter Parker in high school and get deeper into that side of it. He’s just 15 now.”
So it looks like we will be seeing a much younger Spider-Man than the past movies, which makes sense since Peter Parker obtained his spider abilities when he was 15. Regarding Tom Holland who would be playing the teenage superhero, Watts had nothing but good praises on the actor’s ability to portray him. “Tom was pretty perfect. He’s very athletic. He can actually do a backflip! If he didn’t already capture the spirit of the character, with that on top the kid is Spider-Man.”
