Star Trek: Discovery: Season 1’s plot synopsis from CBS:

Star Trek, one of the most iconic and influential global television franchises, returns 50 years after it first premiered, with Star Trek: Discovery. The series will feature a new ship, new characters and new missions, while embracing the same ideology and hope for the future that inspired a generation of dreamers and doers. Star Trek: Discovery premieres September 24 on CBS All Access.

The episode will feature, via IMDB, Sonequa Martin-Green, Jason Isaacs, Emily Coutts, Mary Wiseman, Doug Jones, Shazad Latif, Clare McConnell, Kenneth Mitchell, Sara Mitich, Simon Northwood, Anthony Rapp, Marco Perretta, Damon Runyan, Christopher Russell, and Rainn Wilson.

Judging by the trailer, a lot is going to go down in this coming Sunday’s episode. Not only do we learn that the Klingons will capture Captain Lorca, but we also get a tease of the show’s take on a classic character from The Original Series. I’m talking, of course, about Harry Mudd, portrayed in his youth by Rainn Wilson of The Office fame. Unlike the foppish goof of TOS, this Mudd sounds like he means business, so I’ll absolutely be keeping an eye out for him this Sunday.
