Production Starts for Star Wars: Episode VIII, First Footage Shown. Cameras have started rolling for Star Wars: Episode VIII, which has officially started production, and we have a teaser for the movie featuring Luke Skywalker and Rey right where we left off in the last film.

Star Wars has already got the ball rolling as they begin filming the sequel to the worldwide hit Star Wars: The Force Awakens. We already knew that the film has already started production in the untitled Star Wars: Episode VIII, but now its been made official with an announcement teaser with Rian Johnson behind the director’s chair. The first footage shows the island where we last saw Rey (Daisy Ridley) meeting with Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill) as their eyes exchange, meaning that Luke needs to pick up his lightsaber once again to save the Republic.

Principal photography began for the new film at Pinewood Studios in London this week. Expect some announcements soon for who will take part in the sequel in the coming weeks. For now, check out the first footage for Star Wars: Episode VIII and let us know what you think.
