Stranger Things: Season 3 Episode Count Has Been Lowered
Season 3 of Stranger Things will not have the same episode count that Season 2 of the hit Netflix TV show did. Season 2 of Stranger Things was nine episodes long, with the final episode featuring the showdown between Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown) and The Mind Flayer.
Season 3 of Stranger Things will only eight episodes long, the same length as Season 1. Usually when a show is as successful Stranger Things, the episode count increases.
My guess is that the narrative of Season 3 does not support a ninth episode. Instead of the narrative being manipulated to accommodate a lengthier season, remember Peter Jackson‘s Hobbit films being stretched from two films to three and how they turned out, Stranger Things‘ creators have made a sensible and thoughtful choice.
Season 3 of Stranger Things will begin filming in April 2018. The setting of Stranger Things: Season 3 will be 1985.
