Update: I added video of the fight between Vega and Chun-Li from Street Fighter II: The Animated Movie.
I was hoping they would pull a rabbit out of the hat with this new Street Fighter movie, entitled Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun Li. This idea was given credence because instead of centering on all the characters, trying to include as many as possible, the story was going to be centered on Chun-Li (Kristin Kreuk). Unfortunately, this first Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun Li Japanese trailer is very disappointing. Too much wire work for my tastes. Hopefully the second trailer and the movie will be better. “The film co-stars Neal McDonough as M. Bison, Chris Klein as Charlie, Michael Clarke Duncan as Balrog, and Black Eyed Peas singer Taboo as Vega.”

It would be cool if Vega’s fight scene with Chun-Li in Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun Li is as badass as the one in Street Fighter II: The Animated Movie but I doubt it. That fight scene was rated R and earned it.

Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun Li is scheduled for release on February 27, 2009.
