Mel Gibson Reportedly In Running To Direct Suicide Squad 2
Academy Award-nominated Hacksaw Ridge director Mel Gibson is said to be in negotiations to serve as director on Warner Bros‘ planned sequel Suicide Squad 2.
Gibson, as even the most casual movie fans acknowledge, hardly needs an introduction. He has had a long career that has taken him from the original low-budget Mad Max film to the multi-million dollar sequels as well as numerous Hollywood blockbusters such as Braveheart and the Lethal Weapon series. At the same time, he has branched out into directing, helming The Passion of the Christ and Apocalypto.
Of course, the report stresses that talks are still in the early stages and that Gibson is far from committed to the project as of this time. Warner Bros. is said to be talking to other directors whom they believe might be a good fit for the production, among them Safe House‘s Daniel Espinosa.
