Margot Robbie Describes Experience Playing Harley Quinn on Suicide Squad. Audiences aren’t the only ones hyped for Suicide Squad this year, as star Margot Robbie is also excited for everyone to see her performance as the violent and crazy Harley Quinn when she debuts on screen.
Talking with Cineplex, Margot Robbie discussed the fierce nature of playing the villainous role. “Harley is creepy, violent, crazy — all of the things that I aspire to be!” Robbie said of Harley Quinn. “It’s the fun of living vicariously through someone who is doing things that I would never do in real life.”
She also touched upon working with her co-stars, especially when she reunited with her Focus co-star Will Smith. “I actually texted him when I heard he was in negotiations to be in Suicide Squad and kept peer-pressuring him,” Robbie remembered. “‘You’d better be taking this movie!’ He obviously signed on for his own reasons, but I was so incredibly happy that we got to do Round Two. He’s awesome on set and awesome off set. He’s just a really, really good person.”
