Suicide Squad TV Spots and Movie Clip

Suicide Squad (2016) TV spots 8-10, an extended TV spot (trailer), and a movie clip have been released. The TV commercials entitled ‘Bad People,’ ‘Calm Down,’ and ‘We Need Them Bad’ feature some new footage. The extended TV spot, like the Amanda Waller extended TV spot, and the Deadshot TV extended spot, stars a singular character. That character is Dr. Harleen Frances Quinzel / Harley Quinn (Margot Robbie). From the Suicide Squad movie trailers, viewers knew how violent Quinn was (or they thought they knew). When something shows up in her elevator, Quinn beats the hell out of it with a baseball bat to her team mates chagrin.

So is the Suicide Squad fighting human beings in the second and third acts of the film or supernatural creatures? From what I have seen, they look like creatures. That is the only way the squad could use their weapons on enemies (the aforementioned baseball bat scene) and keep a PG-13 rating.

The June Moone / Enchantress (Cara Delevingne) movie clip introduces the character, via Amanda Waller, to some very powerful politicians. June transformation into Enchantress was good as was the animated nature of her Enchantress form. My question is: why is enchantress in prison? If she is possessed, how wee her evil actions her fault? If she can transform at will like that, why didn’t she do so during trial (one of Primal Fear‘s greatest moments) and get off? I guess we will find out during the film. Amanda Waller saying at the end of the clip “Go get them girl” was absolutely weak.

Suicide Squad‘s plot synopsis: “It feels good to be bad… Assemble a team of the world’s most dangerous, incarcerated Super-Villains, provide them with the most powerful arsenal at the government’s disposal, and send them off on a mission to defeat an enigmatic, insuperable entity. U.S. intelligence officer Amanda Waller has determined only a secretly convened group of disparate, despicable individuals with next to nothing to lose will do. However, once they realize they weren’t picked to succeed but chosen for their patent culpability when they inevitably fail, will the Suicide Squad resolve to die trying, or decide it’s every man for himself?”

David Ayer‘s Suicide Squad also stars Viola Davis, Will Smith, Jared Leto, Adam Beach, Ben Affleck, Jai Courtney, Karen Fukuhara, Common, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Jim Parrack, Will Smith, Joel Kinnaman, Jay Hernandez, Scott Eastwood, and Ike Barinholt.
