Eve Torres Gracie to appear in Supergirl. The former wrestler will play the role of Maxima in the DC-based television series.
The role will be a significant step for Gracie as she pursues an acting career. Known primarily for her work in the wrestling ring, the WWE Diva Champion has since made numerous appearances on television. She has participated in game shows like Show Me The Money and Deal Or No Deal as well as had a part in the 2015 fantasy film, Scorpion King 4: Quest For Power. Acting in a scripted TV drama like Supergirl will go a long way in advancing Gracie’s profile on the small-screen.
Regarding the character she will be playing on the program, precious little has been said. If the comics’ take on Maxima are any indication, however, Supergirl will have to rein her in as she scours the earth for a suitor worthy of her otherworldly nature. According to a plot synopsis offered by CBS, she will not be the only villain appearing in the episode:
CBS has released the synopsis for the upcoming 19th episode of the show, “Myriad”, and though it doesn’t specify how the character will factor into the plot, it does reveal that she will make her debut as played by former pro-wrestler turned actor Eve Torres Gracie.
“Myriad” – Kara must find a way to free her friends when Non (Chris Vance) and Indigo (Laura Vandervoort) use mind control to turn National City’s citizens into their own army, on SUPERGIRL, Monday, April 11 (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.
