CBS’s Supergirl Looking to Cast Lucy Lane. Comic book character Lucy Lane is about to make her second live-action appearance on television after having a minor role in Smallville. The character will soon be introduced in CBS’ new show Supergirl, but how will she be portrayed?
TVLine gave word that CBS is searching for someone to play Lucy Lane in the upcoming superhero series. Not much is known on this version of the character except for her to be around her mid-20s to early 30s. She is described as being “brash, funny and beautiful as her sister Lois, yet strong, smart and successful in her own right.” Lucy Lane will be making her first appearance during the third episode. Just like in the comics, she will be the ex-girlfriend of James Olsen, who is being played by Mehcad Brooks. The site contemplates that we might see a love triangle develop between James, Lucy, and Kara (Melissa Benoist).
There’s also a version of Lucy in the comics where she became Superwoman for a time after being tricked by her father to attack Supergirl. It’s too soon to tell if that version plays out on the show as well. We may find out who will be cast as Lucy in the next couple of weeks leading to the show’s premiere.
