Lex Luthor’s Sister Among the New Characters Being Added for Supergirl’s Second Season. With Superman in the mix, Supergirl is looking to increase its roster of characters for next season, and one of them includes the series-regular role of Lex Luthor’s young sister.
TVLine exclusively reported that five new characters would be added for the second season of the The CW series. The most famous one is Lena Luthor, who is the young sister of iconic villain Lex Luthor. When we first see her, Lena arrives to National City in order to forge her own identity rather than being in the shadow of her brother. She’s described as smart, sexy, “and determined to get what she wants.” It’s a mystery what her motives are at this point.
Kara (Melissa Benoist) will also be facing some competition in the workplace with new character Nick Farrow. He is the new leading man who goes head-to-head with Kara at CatCo. As the son of a famous reporter, Nick is trying to make a name for himself in the media world. However, he must also prevent his former selfish and wild personality from coming out. With Kara by his side, perhaps we may see a change in Nick.
The rest of the roles are in recurring capacity, which includes a scientist, veteran reporter, and a lesbian detective. First up is The Doctor, who is the female leader of Project Cadmus, the infamous lab where she uses her surgical skills to implant her prisoners with alien technology. Next is Snapper Carr, a veteran journalist who hets hired by Cat (Calista Flockhart) to retool the news division by bringing it back to its roots. Lastly, we have Maggie, a comics-inspired character who is an out and proud detective for the new Science Police, which handles metahumans and alien threats.
