Supergirl to Introduce Superman in Season Two. We can finally put that face on the Man of Steel as Supergirl is looking to cast Superman for the The CW series’ second season. Kara’s cousin will be doing the rounds when he appears in the first two episodes of the new season.
After a bunch of teases and messages, Superman will finally be making his trip to National City when Supergirl returns this fall. The network made the announcement (via The Hollywood Reporter) today that the Man of Steel will be debuting in the early episodes of Supergirl. His alter ego Clark Kent will be visiting Kara (Melissa Benoist) in her turf. The news comes after a month that the series made it’s move from CBS to it’s sister network for the fall season. EP Andrew Kreisberg gave his excitement for the Boy in Blue to make his debut on the show. “Greg [Berlanti], Ali [Adler] and I are beyond thrilled to welcome Clark Kent and his slightly-more-famous alter ego to the world of Supergirl, Superman will be appearing in the first two episodes of the new season and we cannot wait to see who next dons the red cape!”
Casting is now underway for the iconic role, and since there aren’t many candidates out there just yet, fans have been clamoring for Smallville’s Tom Welling to take on the role. Tom has played Clark Kent for ten seasons of the superhero series, which also aired on The CW. It’s still anyone’s guess if the actor will be approached for the gig or if he is willing to return to the role that gave him recognition.
