SUPERMAN: THE MAN OF STEEL: Eve, Kruger, Pike up for Ursa Role

Sarah Douglas, Superman

Ursa is supposedly the mystery role Diane Kruger, Alice Eve, and Rosamund Pike have been auditioning for in Zack Snyder‘s Superman: The Man of Steel. We reported on their trying out for Superman: The Man of Steel (2012) here: Diane Kruger, Alice Eve, Rosamund Pike: Superman: The Man of Steel role. Ursa (Sarah Douglas) appeared in Superman 1 (briefly) and Superman 2, a Kryptonian second only to General Zod.

Latino Review say their source is reliable, but that the studio may deny this news whether it is true or not…Snyder has said Zod won’t be in the film, but the rumor keeps popping up…Now expect the powers that be to deny deny and deny. As Superman fans can recall the character URSA was in both “Superman: The Movie” and “Superman II” played by British actress Sarah Douglas.

All three actresses would fill out the costume *ahem* well but I do not who would bring the correct darkness and menace to the role that is necessary. Can either of the three be intimidating and a little horror movie off?

The audition process may be more rigorous than the actresses imagine. To give you an idea, we have screen tests for the Ursa role in Richard Donner’s Superman below with Rohan McCullogh, Carinthia West, Dana Gillespie, and Marilu Tulo. You’ll notice that the scene in the audition was not in the film. Too bad. It was cool but only one villain can have someone kneel before them.
