Sylo Film Adaptation is Coming. D.J. MacHale‘s young adult novel trilogy Sylo is being brought to movie screens by Fox 2000 and The Donners Company. Thor Freudenthal will direct Sylo and Marc Guggenheim will write the screenplay. These book rights being picked up for a film adaptation is of no surprise. Young adult books and trilogies are en vogue at the moment. Every movie studio wants the next The Hunger Games, The Twilight Saga, or Harry Potter on their docket.

Fox 2000 and The Donners Company’s Lauren Shuler Donner have set up [the deal]…Shuler Donner and Donners’ production president Jack Leslie brought in a package that has Thor Freudenthal to direct and Marc Guggenheim to adapt. Shuler Donner and Leslie will produce.
Sylo‘s plot synopsis (from the book):
