FX Gives The Green-Light To Second Season Of Taboo
FX and BBC One have decided to go ahead and produce another season of their Tom Hardy-headlined TV coproduction Taboo.
Having premiered this past January, the 19th century-set period drama has proven to be a success for the two networks. Starring Tom Hardy as the son of a recently-deceased shipping company owner, the series follows his efforts to reclaim his inheritance and take on the forces of the powerful East India Company.
In addition to starring in the program, Hardy also serves as a producer alongside his father Edward “Chips” Hardy (who in turn co-writes the series with Steven Knight). Additionally, Academy Award-nominated director Ridley Scott works as an executive producer as well, expressing delight at the fact that audiences responded positively to the show and want to know “what happens next”.
