I’m not totally in love with Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles but its definitely better than the new Bionic Woman series. Every edgy place that show could have gone they veered from because of the network they were on, a lack of vision, direction and balls. Chronicles does not get everything right but it gets enough edgy, gritty elements right so that I tune in every week. The fights are well done, as is some of the action and a few of the plot points.
In addition, the presence of Queen Gorgo of 300 (Lena Headey) and River Tam of Firefly and Serenity (Summer Glau) are prime inducements to view this TV series as well. I think the best of the four episodes was the episode two weeks ago, entitled Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, Season 1, Ep. 3 – Turk.
What I found most interesting were the Good Terminator’s interactions with John and Sarah but to a greater extent, with high schoolers in school. A girl is crying in the bathroom, the Terminator (Summer Glau) offers the girl a compact it found, saying: “Here’s a present. It’s tight.” The girl looks at the Terminator then leaves the bathroom. Once you see the context the comment is in, the total obliviousness of the machine to human feelings and the resulting comments it makes, the show becomes very entertaining.
The Good Terminator also has absolutely no modesty, benefiting the integrity of its character and showing how it completely lacks human feelings.
