THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2 (2014): Latest Movie Images From EW

Dane DeHaan Andrew Garfield Emma Stone The Amazing Spider-Man 2

Latest Movie Photo Images from The Amazing Spider-Man 2. Marc Webb‘s The Amazing Spider-Man 2 gets another batch of character, action, and BTS images out, this time by way of Entertainment Weekly magazine.

The Entertainment Weekly Amazing Spider-Man 2 cover:

The EW photos, released ahead of its April 4th newsstand publishing date, feature the usual suspects (Andrew Garfield, and Emma Stone), but highlights villains Rhino (Paul Giamatti), and Green Goblin (Dane DeHaan) – the clearest view of the latter, to date.

Andrew Garfield(?) as Spider-Man:

“Really, anyone could be under this costume (just not you. Heh, heh).”

Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone screenshots:

The top of the World can still be a lonely place.

Get the girl, and have an adventure. What could go wrong?

Paul Giamatti action shots as The Rhino:

Finally fed up with the commute, Paul Giamatti takes his “other car” to work.

Yet, strangely, the road rage has not abated.

Might have something to do with this guy.

Dane DeHaan, as The Green Goblin, BTS and action shots:

“Going to need more green… but no Broccoli!”

“Why has everyone been asking me to say “Precious?” (*Goblin! Goblin!*)”

“Oh, ho-ho! I get it. Funny. You gonna die now.”

An easter egg, of sorts, has come out of the Emma Stone pics; her Gwen Stacey character is depicted wearing an outfit some die-hard Spider-fans found more than a little familiar. The outfit, the inclusion of the Goblin, and some pivotal source history 101, raises expectations for one of the signature moments to all things Spider-Man.

Dane DeHaan, Andrew Garfield, and Emma Stone action shots:

When you don’t watch where you’re going…

You wind up going for a ride.

No pressure, Mr. Webb; you do have Stan Lee in your corner.

Stan Lee & Marc Webb BTS:

“I said ‘Nuff Said for the last guy – I wanna say Excelsior!”

If the piling on of Spider villains seems a little greedy, to some, bear in mind that Sony’s ultimate goal is to release a Sinister Six treatment. The Six being an occasionally rotating roster of top Spidey foes, which will likely include Jamie Foxx as source member Electro.

Jamie Foxx as Electro:

Not a new image; but still shocking. Wut?

The Sinister Six prequel, aka The Amazing Spider-Man 2, also stars Sarah Gadon, Chris Cooper, Felicity Jones, Colm Feore, BJ Novak, Denis Leary, Marton Csokas, Martin Sheen, Chris Zylka, and Sally Field. It will be released in US theaters through Columbia Pictures on May 2, 2014.
