Garth Ennis’ Comic Book Series The Boys is Getting a TV Series. As Preacher preps for it’s launch on TV next year, another one of Garth Ennis’ properties may also be getting the TV treatment soon. Ennis’ series The Boys may become the next TV series, but which network will take it?
Birth.Movies.Death has recently reported that Seth Rogen is on the midst of bringing The Boys, another one of Garth Ennis’ comics to the small screen. The violent and gritty series is the next adaptation that Rogen and his writing partner Evan Goldberg hope to bring to life. The writing team will be teaming up with Supernatural creator Eric Kripke to develop the potential series and is currently being shopped to cable networks. The show is still early in the game to be made, as Rogen and Goldberg are busy working on AMC’s Preacher.
The Boys takes place between 2006 and 2008 where superheroes exist in the world. But, most of the superheroes in this universe are corrupted with power and their celebrity status resulting in reckless behavior and causing unsafe environments around the world. Thatt’s where this specialized CIA squad, known as ‘The Boys’, come in and are responsible for keeping a close eye on the superhero community.
