Michael C. Hall To Play JFK In Netflix’s The Crown
Golden Globe-winning Dexter star Michael C. Hall is set to appear as John F. Kennedy in the second season of Netflix‘s The Crown.
Hall is not only known for his role as the Showtime series’ murderous anti-hero however. Before he was Dexter, he was funeral director David Fisher on HBO‘s critically-acclaimed drama Six Feet Under, for which he received Emmy and Screen Actors Guild award nominations. Additionally, he lent his voice to the animated feature Justice League: Gods and Monsters as Kirk Langstrom, or Man-Bat as he is better known.
The series, which deals with the politics and intrigue of mid-20th century Britain, will also see Jodi Balfour portray First Lady Jackie Kennedy and Matthew Goode play the Princess Margaret’s husband Lord Snowden. Costing an estimated $150 million to produce, the show is said to be Netflix’s most expensive in-house production to date.

“The Crown” was created by Oscar winner Peter Morgan. After the series won its Globe for best drama, Morgan told reporters backstage that the second season will end in 1964. “We leave behind a certain kind of Britain and we enter a new Britain,” he said, adding that as the show goes through the years — six seasons are currently planned — main roles will have to be re-cast to remain authentic to the characters’ aging.
