THE FLASH: Kevin Smith To Return As Director [The CW]

Grant Gustin Kevin Smith The Flash

Kevin Smith will return to direct another episode of The Flash. The Chasing Amy and Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back director is slated to helm a second installment of the CW superhero series during it’s third season.

Smith previously worked on “The Runaway Dinosaur”, the 21st episode of the show’s second season and one that earned rave reviews from fans and critics alike. This overwhelmingly positive feedback was likely responsible for convincing the program’s producers to ask Smith to direct for them a second time, something that he is more than game for.

The director has also recently touched on his desire to direct for The Flash‘s sister shows Arrow and DC’s Legends of Tomorrow as well as rival comic-based company Marvel’s Daredevil, opportunities that may arise depending on reaction to his second entry in the DC television universe:

In a new interview with Den of Geek, the fan boy director stated, ““I know I’m going back to The Flash, first week of September, to direct episode 7 of season 3. Still haven’t heard anything back from Arrow. You know, I wish, it would be amazing because I would love to write and direct Onomatopoeia in the show. Um, but I know they’re doing – what is it? – Wild Dog this year, as well as Vigilante, so maybe they’re just like ‘we don’t need you’, or whatever. But, at the moment, anyone over there raises a flag; I’m like ‘please, let me in!’ That’d be fun as f***.
