ABC Adds Iwan Rheon To The Cast Of The Inhumans

Game of Thrones actor Iwan Rheon has been cast in a lead role in ABC‘s upcoming superhero series The Inhumans.

Rheon is primarily known for his role on the aforementioned Game of Thrones, playing the character of Ramsay Bolton for five seasons on the popular HBO series and even reprising the role for the 2014-2015 video game adaptation. Some readers might recognize him from his Misfits role however, portraying the character of Simon Bellamy on the Channel 4 sci-fi comedy.

Now that he has been cast in the upcoming Marvel series, viewers are likely to most associate him with Inhuman member Maximus. The character will have mind control abilities and is said to be the brother of Black Bolt, the king of the Inhumans.

Superherohype, the source of this story, quoted Scott Buck regarding the character Rheon is set to play:

“Maximus is a complex character,” executive producer and showrunner Scott Buck added. “Likable, charming, tragic and villainous all in the same moment, and I’m very excited to have someone of Iwan’s considerable talent.”

Filmmaker Roel Reiné is set to helm the two-part pilot for Marvel’s Inhumans which will be filmed entirely with IMAX digital cameras, and run worldwide exclusively in IMAX for two weeks at the beginning of September 2017. ABC plans to then premiere the weekly series this fall, offering additional exclusive content that can only be seen on the network.
