THE KILLING: AMC TV Show Renewed for 4th Season on Netflix

Mireille Enos Joel Kinnaman The Killing

The Killing Renewed for Season 4. This recent Netflix news answers the question of whether or not the American provider of on-demand Internet streaming media would renew the detective TV show. Earlier, we reported that there would be no fourth season for The Killing. It seems we were wrong. The 4th season of The Killing will be comprised of six episodes and will probably begin to air sometime in 2014. The fourth season will be six episodes shorter than the third and will be the show’s final season.

No other TV show I am aware of has been resurrected twice, though many have been rebooted or remade. I liked all three seasons The Killing, though the last two did have issues. I am looking forward to seeing what they do with season 4, especially since there are no content restrictions on Netflix.

On the renewal, the fourth season, and its showrunner:

Stars Mireille Enos and Joel Kinnaman are on board, and so is showrunner Veena Sud.

“The rich, serialized storytelling in The Killing thrives on Netflix, and we believe that it is only fitting to give Sarah Linden (Enos) and Stephen Holder (Kinnaman) a proper send off,” said Cindy Holland, vice president of original content for Netflix. “We are looking forward to offering fans — both existing and new — a series that we know is perfectly suited for on-demand viewing.”

The Killing: Season 3 starred Mireille Enos, Joel Kinnaman, Hugh Dillon, Aaron Douglas, Max Fowler, Philip Granger, Liam James, Andrew Jenkins, Ryan Robbins, Amy Seimetz, Cate Sproule, Julia Sarah Stone, Bex Taylor-Klaus, and Benjamin Charles Watson.
