Jeffrey Pierce, Murray Bartlett, and Con O’Neill have been cast in HBO‘s The Last of Us (2021). Jeffrey Pierce has been cast as Perry, a rebel in a quarantine zone. Murray Bartlett and Con O’Neill have been cast as two post-pandemic survivalists living alone in their own isolated town.

These actors join already cast: Pedro Pascal, Bella Ramsey, and Gabriel Luna.

Craig Mazin (HBO’s “Chernobyl”), Neil Druckmann (“The Last of Us” and “Uncharted” video game franchises), and Carolyn Strauss (HBO’s “Chernobyl” and “Game of Thrones”) are executive producers along with Naughty Dog’s Evan Wells and PlayStation Productions’ Asad Qizilbash and Carter Swan. Written by Mazin and Druckmann, the series is a co-production with Sony Pictures Television. PlayStation Productions, Word Games, and Naughty Dog produce.

Plot Synopsis

The Last of Us‘ plot synopsis: “Based on the critically acclaimed video game “The Last of Us,” developed by Naughty Dog exclusively for the PlayStation® platforms, the story takes place twenty years after modern civilization has been destroyed. Joel, a hardened survivor, is hired to smuggle Ellie, a 14-year-old girl, out of an oppressive quarantine zone. What starts as a small job soon becomes a brutal, heartbreaking journey, as they both must traverse across the U.S. and depend on each other for survival.”
