The Legend of Tarzan IMAX

The IMAX movie trailer for The Legend of Tarzan (2016) has been released for the film directed by David Yates. Like the trailers before it, this trailer was very reminiscent of Greystoke: The Legend of Tarzan, Lord of the Apes. The beginning of The Legend of Tarzan, the main points, are almost identical to those found in Greystoke: The Legend of Tarzan, Lord of the Apes.

I personally would rather watch men in apes suits than CGI apes. All the vines hanging from trees that magically can hold three-to-four hundred pound apes and two hundred plus pound man is a narrative joke but the viewer is forced to go with that plot device.

This trailer also features Tarzan interacting with far more CGI animals than in previous trailers.

Samuel L. Jackson plays a far greater role in this trailer, speaking of the third act dangers that lurk in this film. Margot Robbie is also given more speaking time, with the memorable line “My husband is no normal man.” I would say that is accurate.

The Legend of Tarzan also stars John Hurt, Djimon Hounsou, Ella Purnell, Simon Russell Beale, Lasco Atkins, Alexander Skarsgard, Christoph Waltz, Casper Crump, Mark Preston, Rory J. Saper, Osy Ikhile, and Cali Nelle.

The Legend of Tarzan‘s plot synopsis: based on the books by Edgar Rice Burroughs, “It has been years since the man once known as Tarzan (Alexander Skarsgård) left the jungles of Africa behind for a gentrified life in London as John Clayton III, Lord Greystoke, with his beloved wife, Jane Porter (Margot Robbie) at his side. Now, he has been invited back to the Congo to serve as a trade emissary of Parliament, unaware that he is a pawn in a deadly convergence of greed and revenge, masterminded by the corrupt Belgian Captain Rom (Christoph Waltz).”‘
