THE NIGHTMARE GALLERY (2018): Amber Benson To Headline Horror Film

Amber Benson The Killing Jar

Amber Benson Set To Star In The Nightmare Gallery

Buffy the Vampire Slayer actress Amber Benson has joined the cast of AWOL Studios’ upcoming horror drama The Nightmare Gallery.

Although she is probably best known for her role as Tara Maclay on the aforementioned supernatural series, Benson has since appeared in a number of other programs. She has had guest roles on such shows as Cold Case, Supernatural, Private Practice, and Grey’s Anatomy and acted in the TV films Gryphon and 7 Things To Do Before I’m 30. On the film front, Benson has appeared in One-Eyed Monster, The Killing Jar, and Drones.

Featuring Benson as an anthropology professor, the planned film will detail what happens when her best student goes missing and she finds herself on the trail of several mysterious artifacts that lead her to an unspeakable truth.

Per, the source of this story:

Gene Blalock, director and founder of Seraph Films, says, “One of the driving forces behind this film is the realization that very few movies, particularly in the horror genre, feature LGBTQ characters and treat them like normal people, rather than caricatures. So while the anthropology professor is married to another woman, her sexual orientation doesn’t tokenize her or diminish the nuance of her characterization. Our intention with this film is to craft an outstanding horror film in its own right, but also one that would promote the idea that genre films can be about someone other than straight, white men and women.”
