THE RAT (2011): Batman Short Film: Dale Fabrigar, Everette Wallin

Everette Wallin, Christopher Hoffman, The Rat

The Rat Batman Short Film has premiered. Dale Fabrigar‘s The Rat (2011) stars Everette Wallin, Christopher Hoffman, Mathew Patrick Davis, and Rob Salerno. The Rat‘s plot synopsis: “Two Gotham City detectives on a late night stakeout discuss life without Batman and The Joker. What begins as a simple conversation builds to a dark and dramatic ending.” Loved it. Absolutely loved. I won’t give away what happens but I saw one of the things coming a mile away towards the end. There was another Batman short film a few years ago where Batman and the Joker were fighting and Batman was wearing his traditional costume. It was called Batman: Dead End. Reality and dialogue-wise, this short film beats it. Camera work and lighting is a toss up. Like Batman: Dead End, The Rat was created with a purpose.

This film initially was made with the good hopes of gaining the attention of the esteemed filmmakers of the most recent Batman film franchise. The actors only hope was to submit themselves for consideration in ANY role that may be required. What began as an audition reel resulted in this promotional piece that all felt ownership in. From the Director to the Writer, to the camera man and PA, we all hope you enjoy, THE RAT. – And Chris Nolan, please give us a call!

I hope director Christopher Nolan catches wind of this short film and gives these guys a job. They are creative and talented. Check out The Rat Batman short film below and leave your thoughts on it.
