I’ve been hearing about the The Reader for a while now and am glad to finally see what everyone is talking about. First off, I have not read the book of the same name by Bernhard Schlink that this film is based on. That does not stop me from appreciating how intriguing this trailer is and wishing that I had read the book before seeing it. Synopsis (spoilers): “In postwar Germany, a young man’s decades-long obsession with an older woman runs headlong into a war crimes trial, where he learns an awful truth.” The Reader is going to be released on December 12, 2008.
