The Sitter Red Band Trailer. David Gordon Green‘s The Sitter (2011) red band movie trailer stars Jonah Hill, Sam Rockwell, Ari Graynor, Max Records, and Kevin Hernandez. The Sitter‘s plot synopsis: “A comedy about a college student (Jonah Hill) on suspension who is coaxed into babysitting the kids next door, but is fully unprepared for the crazy night ahead of him and ends up on a wild chase through New York.”
The Sitter looks hilarious but if it reaches the Adventures in Babysitting classic status or the notoriety of The Babysitters (reviewed here: Film Review: The Babysitters) remains to be seen. The children all have the adult mouths of Hit-Girl from Kick-Ass.
The Sitter‘s history:
The movie was made from a spec screenplay by Brian Gatewood and Alessandro Tanaka — a duo who made a name for themselves with a college comedy script titled Who the Hell is Sanjay Patel, which landed on the 2006 Blacklist (a list of the best unproduced screenplays in Hollywood that year). Jonathan Levine, director of The Wackness, was originally set to helm the film but went on to direct 50/50 instead. David Gordon Green comes from an independent film background, which includes the films George Washington, All The Real Girls and Snow Angels. He’s since transistioned into comedies, and is probably better better known as the director of Pineapple Express and Your Highness.
The Sitter cast also includes J.B. Smoove, Method Man, D.W. Moffett, Jessica Hecht, Erin Daniels, Dreama Walker, Alex Wolff, Joe Urban, Ronald Scott Maestri, Raw Leiba, and Aija Terauda.
