The X-Files: Season 10’s plot synopsis: Fox Mulder and Dana Scully reunite to investigate a conspiracy much bigger than either previously imagined. Learning that the government, not aliens, are responsible for UFOs and abductions, the two veteran FBI agents set out to expose the conspirators and other things that go bump in the night.
The trailer starts off with footage from the season premiere of a UFO crashing at Roswell, New Mexico. Government agents investigate the crash site before the voice of Tad O’Malley comes in and we cut to Scully staring off-screen in shock. O’Malley then appears on his radio show, announcing that listeners will want to prepare themselves for “the truth.” Scully reports to Assistant Director Skinner that O’Malley is making extraordinary claims about alien DNA being put in the bodies of American citizens. Special Agent Einstein asks “put there by whom?” before cutting to Mulder fighting an unidentified man and demanding to know who sent him. We then cut to the Smoking Man, who is confronted at gunpoint by Mulder only for him to tell Mulder that it’s “far too late” for him to do anything. The trailer ends with Mulder and Scully looking to a night sky at a UFO beaming light down upon them.
The episode will feature David Duchovny, Gillian Anderson, Annabeth Gish, Mitch Pileggi, William B. Davis, Robbie Amell, Lauren Ambrose, Julian Christopher, Joel McHale, Gardiner Millar, and Aliza Vellani.
