Kevin Feige Reveals Jane Foster Will Not Appear In Thor: Ragnarok
Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige announced today that Natalie Portman‘s character Jane Foster will not return for Thor: Ragnarok.
The news will undoubtedly come as a shock to fans of the series as the physicist was not only Thor’s love interest but also played a vital role in bringing the Asgardian hero to our world in the first place. Yet it appears that she has most unceremoniously been given the axe off-screen, with Feige simply stating that the two ended their relationship sometime between The Dark World and Ragnarok.
As the Marvel Studios chief explained, the movie’s producers decided that it would be more interesting to see encounter a love interest who was his equal as well as superior to him in certain ways. All that being said, one wonders why they couldn’t come up with a more artful way to end Thor and Jane’s relationship.
