THE TICK: Revival Series Gets Pilot Order with New Cast [Amazon]

The Tick Patrick Warburton

Amazon Picks Up Pilot for The Tick With a New Cast. The Tick is about to make a comeback on television with Amazon giving a pilot order for the revival series. Ben Edlund and Barry Josephson return to write and produce, but actor Patrick Warburton won’t be reprising his role.

With Patrick Warburton not returning to play his famous role as the blue muscled hero, the series will be looking for a new actor to fill in his shoes. However, Warburton will be an executive producer on the project. According to Deadline, the series will also have a new cast with Griffin Newman taking on the role as Tick’s sidekick Arthur and Valorie Curry as his sister Dot. The series ran for 9 episodes in 2001 before getting cancelled, but it soon became a cult favorite among fans.

The show will follow The Tick as a costumed superhero who lost his memory, with him and Arthur reuniting to fight crime. It will be interesting to see who they will cast as the main hero since Warburton won’t be portraying the role due to his commitment to his new show Crowded on NBC. What do you all think of the direction for the new series?
