Alicia Vikander Discusses Love for Tomb Raider and Preparing for Action Sequences. With Alicia Vikander playing the new Lara Croft, the actress revealed that she is also a fan of the Tomb Raider games and also shared some details on her training for her action scenes.

Speaking with Total Film (via Games Radar), the Oscar winner had a chat with them about her highly anticipated role as the treasure-hunting adventurer. The most interesting fact she revealed in the interview was that she has always been a fan of the character since she was a child but never told anyone, including her parents. “I kept it secret – I didn’t have many girlfriends who shared that interest, but I really loved it,” she said. “I did play Tomb Raider back then, even though my parents said I wasn’t allowed to.” Playing a variety of roles throughout her career so far, Tomb Raider is turning into her most demanding role to date in regards to challenging her emotionally and physically.

Much of the film will involve Alicia Vikander doing some tough action sequences. It will no doubt be something that director Roar Athuag will pay the most attention to. However, Vikander is willing to give it her all to prepare for it. “I danced for many years. I really enjoy the aspect of being able to work with my physicality. In one way, I can probably do that unconsciously,” she explained. “But in this, it’s going to be a whole other level. It’s always wonderful when you get the chance to try things out that you never thought you would be able to do, to push yourself and your boundaries.”

Do you think Alicia Vikander will be able to pull off playing Lara Croft?
