TRANSCENDENCE (2014): Wally Pfister casts Kate Mara with Paul Bettany

 Kate Mara House of Cards

Kate Mara cast in Transcendence. The casting of Kate Mara in Transcendence (2014) possibly answers the question of who may be playing the person who recruits Max (Paul Bettany) “into the A.I. fold” in the Wally Pfister directed film. Kate Mara will be playing a character called Bree and “is one of the few female characters in the [Jack Paglen] script.”

Kate Mara is great on NetFlix’s House of Cards and was effective in Shooter so I am looking forward to seeing what she does in a sci-fi setting.

Transcendence‘s plot synopsis: “Two leading computer scientists [, Will and Max,] work toward their goal of Technological Singularity, as a radical anti-technology organization fights to prevent them from creating a world where computers can transcend the abilities of the human brain.”
