Transformers 3 female lead casting fallout or fall-in, has begun. Apparently, Emmanuelle Chriqui, Jessica Lowndes, Zoe Saldana, Hayden Penetierre, Camilla Belle, Ashley Greene, Amber Heard (yes please), Julianne Hough, Vanessa Hudgens, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley (pleeeease). Out of this bunch, Amber Heard is immediately the standout as well as Rosie Huntington-Whiteley. Zoe Saldana does as well but not for this movie.
Gemma Arterton is reportedly the front-runner to replace Megan Fox in Transformers 3. Acting-wise, Arterton makes the most sense since she is starring in upcoming Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time and has starred in Clash of the Titans (2010) and Quantum of Solace.
An individual close to the casting process says the actress has already had discussions with Bay about the coveted role. Other possible replacements for Fox include models Bar Rafaeli, Miranda Kerr and Brooklyn Decker…Rafaeli and Kerr were both brought in to the project’s casting office to read for “Transformers 3,” while Decker has the most substantial acting career of the three models…Decker has appeared on “Chuck,” “Ugly Betty” and USA’s “Royal Pains,” and is currently filming the comedy “Just Go With It” with Adam Sandler and Jennifer Aniston…Rafaeli is an Israeli model who is currently dating Leonardo DiCaprio and stars in Haim Bouzaglo‘s indie psychological thriller “Session,” which is in post-production.
Here is how it should be decided. If Michael Bay is going make Transformers 3 along the quality lines of Batman Begins and The Dark Knight, go with Gemma Arterton or Zoe Saldana. If Bay’s aim is the same as the last two movies, a big carnival ride, stuff blowing up bonanza, go with Brooklyn Decker or Bar Refaeli. A fantastic hedge would be to use both.
