Fifth Transformers Film to Be Called Transformers: The Last Knight. As we await the next film in the Transformers franchise, Paramount Pictures has just announced the title for the new film. The fifth film by Michael Bay is being called Transformers: The Last Knight.
The new film will take place sometime after Transformers: Age of Extinction, with production starting on June 6 this year in Detroit followed by other locations across the globe for its release on June 23. 2017. Transformers: The Last Knight will have Mark Wahlberg returning to reprise his role as Cade Yeager with Isabela Moner cast as the new female lead, Izabella. Comedian Jerrod Carmichael was also cast in the film as an unspecified leading role.
Michigan’s Commissioner in Film & Digital Media Jenell Leonard expressed his excitement for the new film to start shooting in Detroit. “Having one of the highest-profile film franchises created in Michigan is a major economic boost and a testament to the talent of the state’s production community,” Jenell said after production plans were unveiled. “The production and economic investment is now happening sooner rather than later, and obviously, the project is a certainty rather than merely a possibility.”
The Transformers’ Instagram was also updated to show the first look at the logo for the film with the caption: “Calling all #Autobots: Optimus Prime is ready for battle. Are you? #transformers”
Michael Bay will return to direct the latest installment, which will be written by Iron Man scribes Art Marcum & Matt Holloway and Black Hawk Down’s Ken Nolan. Lorenzo di Bonaventura, Don Murphy and Tom DeSanto will be producing the sequel.
