TV Casting: GAME OF THRONES, POWERS, Peter Mensah in SLEEPY HOLLOW

Powers, Game of Thrones, Sleepy Hollow, and other TV productions have made recent TV show casting, TV movie casting, and TV directing news. These shows and movies air on Playstation, HBO, and Fox.

Powers (Playstation)

Tricia Helfer has joined the Season 2 cast of Playstation and Sony Pictures TV’s Powers. She will play FBI Special Agent Lange, who, like the comic book character, shares a history and palpable sexual tension with Detective Walker (Sharlto Copley). Lange walks a fine line between the Powers world and the government, and can be both ally and enemy when it suits her agenda.

Graves (Epix)

Roger Bart has landed a recurring role opposite Nick Nolte in Epix original series Graves…Bart will play Lawrence Mills, a long-established D.C. speechwriter, who worked as the Graves administration’s director of communications where he crafted the President’s signature rhetoric even if, at times, it compromised his own lifestyle and ideology.

Callie Hernandez has booked a series regular role opposite Nick Nolte in Epix original series Graves…Hernandez will play Samantha, a tattooed, free spirit who’s waiting tables in a small Santa Fe coffee shop when President Graves enters her life and finds her take on the world to be what’s lacking in his. Becoming his muse, Samantha is often along for the journey with Graves and Isaiah as he seeks to right his self-perceived wrongs.

Shooter (USA)

Tembi Locke (Dumb And Dumber To) has booked a recurring role on USA Network’s drama pilot Shooter…Locke will play Claire Hopkins, FBI Special Agent In Charge. As Nadine’s boss, doing her job and doing it well is how she operates. Making friends is not her priority.

Lucifer (NBC)

Kevin Rankin has joined the cast of Fox’s drama series Lucifer as a regular.

Rankin will play Malcolm Graham, a decorated detective with an ends-justify-the-means approach to the law. He is beloved by his peers but, underneath his easygoing nature, is a master manipulator.

The Wilding (USA)

Jordana Spiro (The Good Wife) has been tapped for the lead in The Wilding…Spiro will play Margaret Hayes, a psychiatrist whose teenage daughter has been diagnosed with a delusional disorder, though Kayla’s true “condition” makes her the one patient Margaret can’t save.


House Of Lies (Showtime)

Wanda Sykes (Alpha House, The New Adventures of Old Christine) has signed on for a guest starring stint on the fifth season of Showtime comedy series House Of Lies. In addition, Ken Marino (Children’s Hospital, Marry Me) and Nicky Whelan (Matador, Franklin & Bash) also will guest star.

Sykes will appear in least three episodes as Wanda, a love interest for Jeremiah (Glynn Turman) who becomes a much-needed confidante for Marty (Don Cheadle) as he looks to ascend from management mogul to global power player. Whelan will play Klare, Marty’s raw food chef girlfriend.

Chicago Med (NBC)

Carl Lumbly has landed a recurring role in NBC’s upcoming medical drama “Chicago Med”

[Lumbly]…will play Bert Goodwin. The spouse of S. Epatha Merkerson’s Sharon, who is the venerable head of hospital at the center of the story, Bert is a once virile and robust man whose sudden physical ailment factors into his relationship with his wife and the hospital where she presides.

Un-Break My Heart (Lifetime)

Debbi Morgan (“Power,” “All My Children”) will play [Toni Braxton]’s mother, Evelyn, while Gavin Houston (“Guiding Light”) will play her frequent collaborator, producer Kenneth “Babyface” Edmonds. Cortney Scott Wright, Skye P. Marshall (“Public Morals”) and LaToya Franklyn (“Subways”) have also been cast as Braxton’s sisters and fellow singers, Traci, Towanda and Trina Braxton.

Game of Thrones (HBO)

Melanie Liburd has been cast as a Red Priestess [(possibly named Kinvara)] in HBO’s Game Of Thrones.

The Liburd character is separate and different from Van Houten’s major recurring character.

Sleepy Hollow (Fox)

Peter Mensah is…taking on a pivotal recurring guest starring role beginning in November and lasting through the end of the current season. He’ll play “The Hidden One,” an ancient, desiccated god who returns to the mortal world revived as a handsome, powerful menace with eyes that entrance and torment. His first appearance will be in the season’s seventh episode, airing November 12.
