Outlander (Starz)

Laurence Dobiesz has joined the cast of Starz’s “Outlander” in the role of Alex Randall

Dobiesz’s character is the younger brother of Black Jack Randall (Tobias Menzies)

Despite the shared DNA and physical resemblance, Alex Randall possesses nothing of his older brother Black Jack’s ruthless brutality.

A curate and secretary for the Duke of Sandringham, Alex is described as gentle, loving, and kind.

The Ranch (Netflix)

Ashton Kutcher is reuniting with 2.5 Men co-showrunners Don Reo and Jim Patterson and That ’70s Show co-star Danny Masterson for a new multi-camera comedy series on Netflix…a sibling comedy starring Kutcher and Masterson and created by Reo and Patterson.

Untitled Rock ‘n’ Roll (HBO)

Annie Parisse and Ken Marino (We’re The Millers) have booked recurring roles on HBO’s untitled Rock ‘n’ Roll drama series

Set in 1970s New York, the drama explores the drug- and sex-fueled music business as punk and disco were breaking out, all through the eyes of record executive Richie Finestra (Bobby Cannavale) trying to resurrect his label and find the next new sound.

Parisse…plays Andrea Zito, a tough as nails PR rep for a competing record company. Marino is Jackie Jervis, a cunning A&R executive from a rival record company.

Smith was Special Assistant and Deputy Press Secretary to President George H.W. Bush and reportedly was instrumental in guiding the his administration through the controversies surrounding the Thomas nomination. Gets plays Arlen Specter, the Pennsylvania senator who played a leading role in the Thomas hearings as a Republican on the Senate Judiciary Committee.

Saints & Strangers (National Geographic Channel)

Paul Edwards will direct National Geographic Channel’s (NGC) four-hour scripted movie event “Saints & Strangers”

The film focuses on the relationship between Native Americans and the earliest settlers.

“Saints & Strangers” follows 101 men, women and children who sailed on the Mayflower for a place no one had ever seen. Half of these “pilgrims” were religious separatists who had abandoned their prior lives for religious freedom and an opportunity to create a new social order built on their values. The other half, “adventurers,” were mostly single men seeking financial opportunity and a rapid acquisition of wealth in a new land or trying to escape their old identities or criminal pasts

Intertwined with these complex inner struggles is the relationship with the Native Americans and the conflicting allegiances among these groups, culminating in trials of assimilation, faith and compromise that to this day define our country.

American Horror Story: Hotel (FX)

Finn Wittrock…has signed on for the upcoming fifth installment of the FX anthology series, subtitled “Hotel”

And it appears that he’ll be competing with fellow “AHS” return customer Matt Bomer for Lady Gaga’s attention.

The actor…will play Monaghan’s husband, Eddie Cleary, a man with a wayward past who converts to a controversial movement. He suffers a crisis of faith when all that he’s come to accept as truth in his life is fundamentally challenged.

ABC’s upcoming miniseries “Madoff” has added Charles Grodin and Lewis Black to its cast.

Grodin…will play Carl Shapiro, a longtime friend and big financial backer of Madoff’s. Black will play Ezra Merkin, aka “The Rabbi,” a close business associate to Madoff.
