Pitch, Cruel Intentions, Riverdale, and other TV productions have made recent TV show casting, TV movie casting, and TV directing news. These shows and movies air on Fox, NBC, and The CW.

The Death of Eva Sofia Valdez (ABC)

Raúl Castillo has been cast as Sebastian, the son of celebrated Miami entrepreneur Eva Sofia Valdez.

Ray Donovan (Showtime)

Pasha Lychnikoff has been cast as Russian gangster Ivan Belikov, who is wanted by the Los Angeles police department.

Dirty Dancing (ABC)

Colt Prattes has been cast as dance instructer Johnny. Wayne Blair is directing with Jessica Sharzer writing the screenplay and Andy Blankenbuehler creating the choreography.

Jean-Claude Van Johnson (Amazon)

Jean-Claude Van Damme  has been cast as a version of himself, an actor and martial artist  whose alter ego is an undervocer private contractor who is curenetly film ===ing a movie entitled Huckleberry Finn. Peter Atencio is directig with Dave Callaham wirting it.

Queen Sugar (OWN)

Bianca Lawson, Greg Vaughan, and Henry G. Sanders have been cast.

Lawson will portay Darla, the ex-girlfriend of Ralph Angel and mother of their son, 6-year-old Blue, who she has been prevented from seeing as she battles drug addiction.

Vaughan portrays Calvin, a cop and longtime lover of Nova, who shares a deep connection with her despite being married. Sanders, in a recurring role, portrays Prosper Denton, a farmer and old friend of Ernest (guest star Glynn Turman).

Ava DuVernay wrote and is set to direct multiple episodes of the series.

10 Days in the Valley

Demi Moore will play single mom Jane, whose child goes missing in the middle of the night.

The Jury (ABC)

Brandon Jay McLaren and Ben Esler have joined the series.

Brandon Jay McLaren has been cast as Jared, “a juror with a dark past and penchant for speaking his mind.”

Ben Esler has been cast as Ernest, “an awkwardly mild-mannered professional.”

The Jury is written by VJ Boyd and Mark Bianculli.

Orphan Black (BBC)

Jessalyn Wanlim has been cast as Evie Cho, “a spokesperson advocating research for women’s health. Evie is a powerful, seductively articulate bio-engineer that preaches empowerment to those oppressed by sexism and physical aliments.”

The Last Tycoon (Amazon)

Kerry O’Malley has been cast as Kay Maloney, a Brady-American studio writer.

Annika Marks has been cast as Declan Davis’ wife Bernadette Davis.

Ash vs Evil Dead (Starz)

Michelle Hurd has been cast as Ash’s high-school sweetheart.

Recon (Fox)

Adam Davidson has been set as the pilot director, which will be written by Caroline Dries.

“Recon is about a rookie FBI agent (Tracy Spiridakos) who embeds herself in a suspected terrorist family.”

Midnight, Texas (NBC)

Sarah Ramos has been cast as Creek, “a girl next door beauty who works two jobs – a waitress at the local restaurant and working the counter at the Gas and Go convenience store her dad owns. She is bright, funny and dreams of more but lives at home to protect her teen brother from their oppressively strict and protective father.”

I Love Dick (Amazon)

Kathryn Hahn has been cast as independent filmmaker Chris who lives in Marfa, Texas. “Chris goes on a journey of self-discovery and eventually transformative power. Told in Rashomon-style shifts of POV, I Love Dick charts the unraveling of a marriage, the awakening of an artist and the reluctant deification of a [charismatic professor] named Dick.”

The series will be directed by Jill Soloway.

Pitch (Fox)

Mo McRae has been cast as All-Star outfielder Blip and Tim JoGinny’s big brother on the team.

Meagan Holder plays Blip’s wife Evelyne and Ginny’s friend.

Tim Jo has been cast as Ginny’s social media manager Eliot.

Elisabeth Shue has been cast as Amelia Slater, “Image-maker extraordinaire and Ginny’s personal guru/protector.”

Pitch will be directed by Paris Barclay and written by Dan Fogelman.

Eyewitness (USA)

Julianne Nicholson has been cast as Helen Torrance, a former police detective who is now a sheriff and wife who begins fostering one of two boys who witness a forest shooting.

Catherine Hardwicke is directing the first two episodes.

Cruel Intentions (NBC)

Taylor John Smith has been cast as Bash Casey, “the son of Ryan Phillippe’s Sebastian and Reese Witherspoon’s Annette from…1999 movie Cruel Intentions…Upon discovering his late father’s legacy in a hidden journal, Bash is introduced to a world of sex, money, power and corruption he never could have imagined.”

Sophina Brown has been cast as Naomi, the ex-wife Pascal, mother of Cassidy, and harborer of the hope of becoming California’s first Black Republican congresswoman.

Frequency (The CW)

Peyton List has been cast a police detective Raimy, a cop in 2016, that begins speaking to her deceased father in 1996. The two begin working on a murder case that has butterfly effect consequences in 2016.

Incorporated (Syfy)

Allison Miller has been cast as Ben Larson (Sean Teale)’s smart and naive wife Laura.

Future Man (Hulu)

Eliza Coupe has been cast Tiger, a soldier from the future and Cybergeddon video game character who is hiding a secret.

Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg will direct.

Bunker Hill (CBS)

Dermot Mulroney has been cast as Walter Wallace, a surgeon with a past hired to head a Tech giants cutting edge hospital.

Wayward Pines (Fox)

Christopher Meyer will play Mario, described as bulked up and self-important, he is one of Kerry Campbell’s soldiers, wearing a uniform and carrying weapons.

The Exorcist (Fox)

Brianne Howey has been cast as Charlotte, “a former ballet dancer, once the golden child, she has not been the same since her terrible accident. Now depressed and anti-social, she’s closed off and guarded. So much so that her mother has begun to believe she might be influenced by a demon, though the thought would make Charlotte laugh.”

Riverdale (The CW)

Luke Perry has been cast as Fred Andrews, father of the lead character Archie Andrews, and owner of a construction company in Riverdale.

Riverdale is written by Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa.
