TV Casting: THE LAST SHIP, HOUSE OF LIES, Vincent D’Onofrio in EMERALD CITY

The Last Ship, House of Lies, Emerald City, and other TV productions have made recent TV show casting, TV movie casting, and TV directing news. These shows and movies air on TNT, Showtime, and NBC.

I’m Dying Up Here (Showtime)

[I’m Dying Up Here] just added a trio of bigger names to its cast: Oscar winner Melissa Leo (The Fighter), Sebastian Stan (Captain America: The Winter Soldier), and Clark Duke (Hot Tub Time Machine).

Leo will play the role of “Goldie,” a brassy comedy club owner who rules over her business with an iron fist and nurtures her comedians with tough love. Stan will play “Clay,” a funny, charming comedian on the rise, who declares irrelevancy as his biggest fear. He is idolized by his ex and fellow comedian Cassie (Graynor). Duke will play “Larry,”  a ballsy young comedian from Boston who moves to L.A. with the hopes of making it big.

Rocky Horror Picture Show (Fox)

Fox’s “Rocky Horror Picture Show” is a go as…Laverne Cox joins the cast

Cox has been cast in the role of Frank-N-Furter, the main antagonist of the story, played by Tim Curry in the original 1975 film.

Kenny Ortega…will be directing and choreographing the movie

Emerald City (NBC)

NBC has cast Vincent D’Onofrio to play The Wizard in “Emerald City”

The Wizard of Oz is the enigmatic leader of Emerald City. A man of science in a world of magic, he rules through inspiration, fear and a tenuous accord with the grand witches.

American Crime Story: The People v. O.J. Simpson (FX)

Dale Godboldo has been cast as defense attorney Carl E. Douglas on upcoming FX anthology series “American Crime Story: The People v. O.J. Simpson”

Douglas was one of the top lawyers in the law firm of Johnnie Cochran, and was one of the attorneys defending NFL star O.J. Simpson in the murder of his wife Nicole Brown and her friend Ron Goldman.

Victoria (ITV)

Rufus Sewell…has joined the cast as Lord Melbourne who was Victoria’s first prime minister. The two immediately connected and their intimate friendship became a popular source of gossip that threatened to destabilize the government.

The Walking Dead (AMC)

Jay Huguley (12 Years A Slave, True Detective) has booked a recurring role on AMC’s blockbuster zombie apocalypse series The Walking Dead. Having already appeared in the Season 6 opener, Huguley’s David is one of the residents of the Alexandra Safe Zone community.


Of Kings and Prophets (ABC)

Louis Talpe has landed a season-long recurring role on ABC’s midseason drama Of Kings and Prophets…Talpe will play Eliab, David’s proud and single-minded older brother.

Graves (Epix)

Nia Vardalos (My Big Fat Greek Wedding) has booked a recurring role opposite Nick Nolte and Sela Ward in Epix original series Graves…Vardalos will play Annie Novak, a top political consultant with a killer instinct, who is hired to manage Margaret’s (Sela Ward) potential Senate campaign. She and Margaret go way back; in fact, Margaret gave Annie her first job, and their old bond is still strong. However, Annie has to understand that Margaret’s first loyalty is to her husband (Nolte).

Shooter (USA)

David Marciano (The Shield, Homeland) has been cast in a recurring role opposite Ryan Phillippe and Emily Rios in the USA Network drama pilot Shooter…Marciano will play Senior FBI agent John Renlow, partner to Nadine Memphis (Rios), a lifetime bureaucrat whose career in the agency is happily close to retirement.

The Last Ship (TNT)

Bridget Regan has landed a series regular role on the third season of Michael Bay’s action-adventure TNT series The Last Ship. Regan will play Sasha, a former Navy Intelligence Officer now operating under diplomatic cover in China for the newly reformed United States government.

House of Lies (Showtime)

John Cho and Malcolm-Jamal Warner [are] guest stars for one episode of its upcoming season.

Cho will play Sean Chew, a messianic billionaire CEO of a revolutionary retailer who has radical philosophies about organizational structure. Warner will play his suffering COO, Yurgen Celebi, who calls upon his old business school friend, management consultant Marty Khan (Don Cheadle) and his team to save Sean’s company from himself.

BrainDead (CBS)

Nikki M. James…will play Rochelle, a medical resident whose father has died from a mysterious infection. She teams with Laurel (Mary Elizabeth Winstead) to learn what happened to her father, and protect others from the same fate.
