TV Casting: THE SIMPSONS, X-FILES, Elodie Yung is Elektra in DAREDEVIL

The Simpsons, X-Files, Daredevil, and other TV productions have made recent TV show casting, TV movie casting, and TV directing news. These shows and movies air on AMC, HBO, and Fox.

Daredevil (Netflix)

Elodie Yung (“G.I. Joe: Retaliation,” “District 13: Ultimatum”) joins the next season of “Marvel’s Daredevil”

Yung will play Elektra, a mysterious woman from Matt Murdock’s past whose dangerous and exotic ways may be more than he can handle. The first season of “Marvel’s Daredevil” made reference to Elektra, but now Yung will portray one of Daredevil’s fan-favorite characters.

Empire (Fox)

Singer Kelly Rowland has joined the cast for the second season of the wildly popular drama

Rowland will appear in a flashback sequence, playing the mother of Lucious Lyon (Terrence Howard).

X-Files (Fox)

Rhys Darby will appear in the upcoming “X-Files” miniseries

Darby will play a man whom Mulder suspects in a series of what appear to be animal attacks.

Castle (ABC)

Toks Olagundoye has joined the cast of ABC drama Castle as a new series regular in Season 8. She will play Hayley Vargas, a quick-witted, free-spirited, former Scotland Yard police officer who works as a security specialist and is not afraid to cross lines to get things done.

Wicked City (ABC)

Jeremy Sisto has been tapped for the lead role of Detective Jack Roth in ABC’s new fall crime drama Wicked City. In this recasting, the Suburgatory alum is taking over the role of the conflicted cop played by Adam Rothenberg in the pilot.


The Simpsons (Fox)

Harry Shearer has agreed to return to The Simpsons fold after less than two months ago saying he quit the show when his contract negotiations broke down…all is back to normal for the actor to return to the show he’s been a key part of for 26 years as a slew of characters including Mr. Burns, Ned Flanders, Principal Skinner and many more.

The Good Wife (CBS)

Jeffrey Dean Morgan will join The Good Wife as a series regular for the CBS drama’s upcoming seventh season. He will play Alex, a calm, experienced hourly investigator whom Alicia (Julianna Margulies) hires.

Masters Of Sex (Showtime)

Emily Kinney has joined the third season of Showtime’s Masters Of Sex in a multi-episode arc…Kinney will play Nora, who was Bill and Libby’s neighbor as a child. Now in her 20s, Nora volunteers to become a sex surrogate in the next phase of Masters and Johnson’s research.

Getting On (HBO)

Jonathan Silverman (Weekend At Bernie’s) has joined the cast of HBO’s offbeat hospital comedy Getting On…Silverman…will appear in all six episodes of the show’s third and final season as nephrologist Dr. Happy Gladden

Saints & Strangers (National Geographic)

Ron Livingston, Anna Camp and Vincent Kartheiser are among the “saints” marching in on National Geographic Channel’s miniseries, “Saints & Strangers”

Joining the trio as “Saints” are Barry Sloane and Michael Jibson.

The “Strangers” will be played by Ray Stevenson, Natascha McElhone and Brian F. O’Byrne, while the Native Americans include Raoul Trujillo, Tatanka Means and Kalani Queypo.

The Saints

Vincent Kartheiser (“Mad Men”) plays William Bradford, the colony’s moral compass who would eventually serve as long-time governor of Plymouth Colony.
Anna Camp (“Pitch Perfect,” “True Blood”) is Dorothy Bradford, his wife, still haunted by their decision to leave their three-year-old son behind for the journey to the New World.
Ron Livingston (“Band of Brothers”) stars as John Carver, the initial leader of the Pilgrims and the first governor of the Plymouth Colony.
Barry Sloane (“Revenge”) plays Plymouth leader Edward Winslow who would serve as a diplomat to the nearby Pokanoket tribe and their leader Massasoit.
Michael Jibson (“Hatfields & McCoys”) is Myles Standish who, though not a separatist himself, was hired as the colony’s military adviser.

The Strangers

Ray Stevenson (“Divergent”) stars as Stephen Hopkins, a leader of the strangers — albeit one with a checkered past — and the only Mayflower passenger who had previously been to the New World.
Natascha McElhone (“Californication”) is his wife, Elizabeth Hopkins, who gives birth to their second child aboard the Mayflower and is one of only four women to survive to the first Thanksgiving.
Brían F. O’Byrne (“Aquarius”) is John Billington, an antagonistic patriarch of a family known for troublemaking.

The Native Americans

Raoul Trujillo (“Apocalypto”) plays Massasoit, the sachem — or leader — of the Pokanoket tribe. Plague has decimated the Pokanoket population, leaving Massasoit uncertain of how to deal with the arrival of the new settlers.
Tatanka Means (“Banshee”) plays Hobbamock, one of Massasoit’s men and a Pniese — an elite warrior thought to be unkillable in battle.
Kalani Queypo (“The New World”) is Squanto, a former captive and slave of English explorers, who has crossed the Atlantic four times and acts as a translator and negotiator between Massasoit and the governors of the Plymouth Colony.
