The Walking Dead, The Way, Daredevil, and other TV productions have made recent TV show casting, TV movie casting, and TV directing news. These shows and movies air on AMC, Netflix, and Hulu.
The Walking Dead (AMC)
Corey Hawkins has joined the sixth season of The Walking Dead as a key member from the comics.
The Alexandria community will gain a key addition in the sixth season as actor Corey Hawkins has just been announced as a new recurring cast member. Hawkins will bring the important supplies forager, Heath to life when new episodes of The Walking Dead resume this Fall.
The Way (Hulu)
Michelle Monaghan (True Detective, Source Code) has been tapped as the female lead in the Hulu original drama series The Way (working title). Mike Cahill (Another Earth) will direct the first episode of the 10-episode series
The Way examines a family at the center of a controversial movement struggling with relationships, marriage and power, with each episode taking an in-depth look at what it means to choose between the life we live and the life we want. Monaghan will play Sarah Cleary, a high level member of a controversial movement navigating the truths — and untruths — colliding in her life.
From Dusk Till Dawn: The Series (El Rey)
Demi Lovato will be joining the El Rey Network/Miramax supernatural crime saga “From Dusk Till Dawn: The Series” for season 2.
Madoff (ABC)
Blythe Danner (I’ll See You In My Dreams, Meet The Parents) and Lyne Renee (Strike Back) have joined the cast of ABC’s Madoff miniseries…Danner will play Ruth Madoff, the wife of Bernie Madoff, played by Richard Dreyfuss. Renee…will play Catherine, the unassuming owner of a fishing store and Andrew Madoff’s second wife.
Shades Of Blue (NBC)
Michael Esper (Nurse Jackie, Frances Ha) has booked a recurring role in Shades Of Blue, NBC’s straight-to-series drama directed by Barry Levinson…Esper…will play Donnie Pomp, a lieutenant with Internal Affairs who tries to drive a wedge between the characters Wozniak (Ray Liotta) and Harley (Lopez).
Girlfiends’ Guide To Divorce (Bravo)
Will Kemp and Daniel Lissing have signed on for recurring roles on the upcoming second season of Bravo’s Girlfiends’ Guide To Divorce.
Kemp will play Scott, a charismatic, off-beat, handsome vegan baker at Jo’s shop. Lissing is Payton, an actor friend from Becca’s childhood.
Chicago Med (NBC)
Colin Donnell (Arrow, The Affair) has been added to the cast of NBC’s new drama series Chicago Med as a new regular…the character Donnell will be playing is still being fleshed out. He is expected to be a doctor, possibly in pediatrics.
Special Correspondents (Netflix)
Kelly Macdonald has been cast as one of the female leads in Ricky Gervais‘ Netflix movie “Special Correspondents”
Eric Bana stars as Frank, an arrogant New York-based radio journalist whose decadent lifestyle has hindered his career. With his job on the line, he decides to fake frontline war reports from the comfort of his hideout above a Spanish restaurant in Manhattan.
Macdonald will play Claire Makepeace, a colleague of Bana’s at the radio station, where she has been harboring a crush on Finch, who will be played by Gervais. When Frank and Finch go missing, she becomes the face of the station in the press.
Benjamin Bratt co-stars as Bana’s TV anchor nemesis in the film, which is expected to debut on Netflix next year.
Confirmation (HBO)
“Confirmation”…has added Jennifer Hudson, Greg Kinnear and Jeffrey Wright to its cast.
“Dreamgirls” and “Smash” alum Hudson has signed on to portray Angela Wright, who had worked with Thomas at the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and provided a statement in support of Thomas.
Kinnear, meanwhile, will play Joe Biden, who chaired the Senate Judiciary Committee during the 1991 hearings on Thomas’ confirmation.
Wright…has signed on as Anita Hill’s legal counsel, Charles Ogletree.
Alison Wright will play Thomas’ wife, Ginni.
Madoff (ABC)
Blythe Danner has signed on for the ABC miniseries “Madoff,” joining Richard Dreyfuss, who will portray the title character of Bernie Madoff.
ABC also said that Raymond De Felitta (“City Island”) has come aboard as director of the series.
Danner will play Madoff’s wife Ruth in the project, which also features Frank Whaley, Erin Cummings and Tom Lipinski among its cast.

Daredevil (Netflix)
Jon Bernthal (“Wolf of Wall Street,” “The Walking Dead, ” “Fury”) joins the upcoming season of “Marvel’s Daredevil”…Bernthal will portray The Punisher, one of Marvel’s most popular characters. He is a vigilante who aims to clean up New York City’s Hell’s Kitchen by any means necessary, no matter how lethal the results.
The Get Down (Netflix)
Actor-musician Jaden Smith (After Earth) has joined the cast of Baz Luhrmann’s music-driven Netflix drama for The Get Down…Smith will recur as Marcus “Dizzee” Kipling, 18, a psychedelically talented and enigmatic graffiti writer raised in the South Bronx.
