TV Renewals, Air Dates, Cancellations: PENNY DREADFUL, AMERICAN GODS, BATES MOTEL

Penny Dreadful, Bates Motel, Power, and other TV shows have all made recent TV show news by being renewed for an additional season, cancelled, or had additional episode orders. These shows air on Showtime, A&E, and Starz.

Penny Dreadful (Showtime)

SHOWTIME has renewed the critically-acclaimed, BAFTA Award-winning drama series PENNY DREADFUL for a third season…A co-production with Sky Atlantic, PENNY DREADFUL will once again shoot on location in Dublin, Ireland for a nine episode order to debut in 2016.

Bates Motel (A&E)

A&E Network has ordered twenty episodes of the acclaimed drama series, “Bates Motel”

New episodes of “Bates Motel” will begin production later this year and will air over two seasons, starting in 2016.

Power (Starz)

The cable channel has renewed the hit drama…for a third season.

The renewal comes following a record-setting Season 2 premiere on Saturday. The season debut racked up 1.43 million viewers with it initial 9 p.m. airing, making it the most-watched season premiere episode for a Starz original series. For the weekend overall, the “Power” premiere amassed more than 3.62 million total viewers.

The 10-episode third season will begin production in New York in September.
