Outsiders, The Flash, Arrow, Royal Pains, and other TV shows have all made recent TV show news by being renewed for an additional season or cancelled. These shows air on The CW, WGN, and USA.

Reign (The CW)
Eleven TV shows have been renewed on The CW for an additional season. Most were of no surprise, especially the DC Comics TV shows. Comic Book properties are in-vogue, whether they are on TV or on film. Also not surprising was The CW’s move to renew the only two dramas (Jane The Virgin and Crazy Ex-Girlfriend) on their airwaves to receive awards.
Most of the TV shows that premiered the the beginning of the fall season last year will do like-wise this year. The same goes for the mid-season premiere shows.
The CW TV show and the season number they were picked up for:
JANE THE VIRGIN (Season 3), CRAZY EX-GIRLFRIEND (Season 2), THE FLASH (Season 3), iZOMBIE (Season 3), ARROW (Season 5), SUPERNATURAL (Season 12), DC’S LEGENDS OF TOMORROW (Season 2), THE 100 (Season 4), THE VAMPIRE DIARIES (Season 8), THE ORIGINALS (Season 4) and REIGN (Season 4).
Outsiders (WGN)
WGN America’s original series Outsiders has been picked up for a second season. WGN has been doing well with its new series. “The series has boosted the network’s prime-time viewing by 42 percent.” Each episode has averaged 2.8 million viewers.
Season 2 is set to begin production this summer.
Switched at Birth (ABC Family)
The series has been official cancelled and will end its run at the conclusion of its fifth season. The series premiered with the highest premiere ratings to date for the network. The series will end its run with over a hundred episodes, making it eligible for syndication on another network.
Royal Pains (USA)
The series has been official cancelled and will end its run at the conclusion of its eighth season. Each episode for Season 7 averaged three million viewers “in L7, and over one million in the the key adult demos (1.03M P18-49; 1.24M P25-54).” The series will end its run with over a hundred episodes, making it eligible for syndication on another network.
