Rita! Nooo! The season finale of Dexter, Season 4, entitled The Getaway, sure was one for the books. Dexter (Michael C. Hall) should have followed The Code. Trinity (John Lithgow) did not leave the show without leaving his mark on Dexter and his life, forever. Dexter had so many chances to kill Trinity and he never took them. I knew something was going to happen at the end of the episode but I never expected that. Dexter’s father was right about Dexter having a family as well. If he had never married Rita (Julie Benz) and moved in, Trinity would never have found Rita. One thing though: now Dexter will have to cover up her death. The husband is always the first suspect when a wife is found dead. Dexter can not blame it on Trinity because why would Trinity target Dexter? How does he explain that? He can not. He will have to cover up Rita’s death and sanitize the bathroom and the floors. I hope he does not chop up her body but he might have to. It’s the only way to move it out of the house without it being seen. He’ll get away with it because she was supposed to be on a plane when her murder happened. He will probably say that Rita left him, her baby, and the family and took off. Now he can never leave his family for their sake or safe being. He is all they have left.
