TV Review: The Tudors Season 3, Ep. 1

The Tudors Season 3, Episode 1 opens with King Henry marrying his most recent true love, Jane Seymour, in the hopes of achieving his long sought after male heir to the throne. All is not well in the kingdom, not that it ever was. The pesky Catholics are pissed their monasteries are being pillaged and that their holidays are being withdrawn by Thomas Cromwell’s reformation. Mary Tudor has been abandoned by The Emperor of Spain and the Church. It was sad what she was forced to do to regain the favor of her father, the king again. King Henry is so capricious it is absurd and he is descending farther and farther down the road of a joke, a dangerous joke.

Henry is already looking at other women days after his wedding though he is trying not to. I skipped the part of the beginning of The Tudors Season 3, Episode 1 with the scenes from the rest of the season. They are far too telling though simply cracking a text book would tell the curious of the events depicted. I hope Peter O’Toole appears in this season. If he does not we always have Max Von Don though, which is no consolation prize.
